PSN DLC codes add content to games already sitting on a PlayStation account. Expansions, cosmetic packs, season passes and bonus items all arrive the same way: a code redeemed on the account, unlocking the content next time the game runs.

What is a PSN DLC code?

An activation code for add-on content rather than for a full game. Redeeming it attaches the content to the PSN account permanently, exactly as buying it from the store would.

The requirement people miss is the base game. DLC needs the game it belongs to on the same account, and buying the add-on does not include it.

What kinds of content are here

• Story expansions. New campaigns and regions that continue a game after its main story.
• Season passes. Bundles covering a game’s planned content, usually cheaper than buying pieces individually.
• Cosmetic packs. Skins, outfits and item sets that change appearance rather than gameplay.
• Bonus and starter packs. In-game items and currency aimed at players joining a live game after launch.

How to redeem

On a PS5 or PS4, open the PlayStation Store, select your profile icon, choose Redeem Codes, enter the 12 digit code and confirm. In a browser, use playstation.com/redeem. The content attaches immediately and appears when the game is next launched.

Redeem on the account that owns the game, not a family member’s profile. Content cannot be moved between accounts afterward.

Check region and base game first

Two things to confirm: that the code matches the account’s region, and that the base game is on that same account. Both are stated or implied in the product title on this page. A code redeemed against an account without the game will succeed and then sit unusable, which cannot be reversed.
