Pharloom

The kingdom of Pharloom is built on ritual, silk, and song. Its architecture climbs vertically through distinct regions, each governed by different factions, biomes, and environmental conditions. The silkweavers who constructed it, the pilgrims who travel through it, and the creatures who have made it their home all have their own relationships to the citadel at its peak, and to the ceremony that draws everyone upward.

The world is hand-drawn and animated to the same standard as Hollow Knight, with each region having a distinct visual identity and atmosphere. Over 150 enemy types are distributed across Pharloom, many of them unique to their region and requiring different approaches to navigate safely.

Hornet

Hornet is a fundamentally different character to play than the Knight. Her movement is faster, her needle attack has greater range and speed, and her combat style rewards aggression over patience. The Silk system underpins most of her special abilities: Silk is gathered through combat and environmental interaction and spent on tools, traps, and techniques that extend what Hornet can do in both exploration and combat. The toolkit expands across the game as new abilities are discovered, and the challenge of Pharloom is designed around the assumption that players will push into that toolkit rather than relying on a single approach.

Boss encounters are the centrepiece of the experience. Silksong features a large roster of named bosses, each with distinct attack patterns and phases. The quality of these encounters was a defining feature of Hollow Knight, and Team Cherry built the sequel around delivering the same density of memorable fights at a higher level of mechanical complexity.

The Climb
