Epic Games runs both a PC storefront and Fortnite, and for most buyers the second is the reason they end up here. What we carry for Epic is centred on Fortnite: the gift cards that fund an Epic account and the V-Bucks that get spent inside the game.

Both routes lead to the same place, but they do not buy the same things, and that distinction is worth understanding before choosing.

What we stock for Epic Games

• Fortnite Gift Cards. Credit applied to the Epic Games account. Broader in what it covers than V-Bucks alone.
• Fortnite V-Bucks. The in-game currency itself, spent in the Fortnite item shop and on the Battle Pass.

V-Bucks and Epic account balance are different

V-Bucks are Fortnite currency. They buy cosmetics from the item shop, the Battle Pass and in-game items, and nothing outside the game.

Epic account balance is store credit. It covers games on the Epic Games Store, and it can go toward the Fortnite Crew subscription, which V-Bucks cannot pay for. If the intent includes Crew or anything on the wider store, V-Bucks alone will not do it.

What V-Bucks actually buy

The item shop

Outfits, pickaxes, gliders and emotes, rotated on a schedule. This is where most V-Bucks go.

The Battle Pass

Each season’s pass, which returns a portion of its cost in V-Bucks as it is completed.

Not the Crew subscription

Fortnite Crew bills as a subscription and is paid from account balance or a payment method, not from a V-Bucks stash.

Platform matters for V-Bucks

V-Bucks bought through a console store are redeemed through that console’s storefront rather than through Epic. Once in the account, V-Bucks are shared across platforms the account signs in on, but the code itself has to be redeemed where it was issued for.

Before you buy

Decide whether the purchase needs to cover Crew or store games, which points to a gift card rather than V-Bucks, and check the platform and region stated on the listing against the account.
